Real Estate Investment Trust

Real Estate Investment Trust:  Real Estate Investment Trusts or REITs are typically closed-end investment trusts that trade on an exchange and use the pooled capital of many investors to purchase and manage income producing properties.   REITs primarily own commercial real estate, such as shopping centres, apartments, retirement homes and industrial buildings. REITs provide a liquid way to invest in real estate, which is an otherwise illiquid market.
